Tropical Breeze Pool Service - News
Hurricane Action Plan
While we all hope that Central Florida does not encounter any adverse weather this year, we feel it is important to plan for such events.
Objective:
The objective of this document is to outline Tropical Breeze Pool Service’s plan of action in the event of a hurricane or tropical storm in Central Florida.
Commitment:
We are committed to making the safety of our employees and customers our highest priority. We do not believe it is right to make excessive profits from a natural disaster; therefore, any surcharges necessary will be calculated with our standard pricing process.
Action Plan:
Customers can help by doing the following:
- Never empty your pool. The water in your pool provides the necessary weight to hold the sides and bottom in place when heavy rains raise the water table.
- Make sure all drains on the deck are free of debris for adequate drainage.
- Turn off power to the pool at the circuit breaker before the storm hits.
- After the storm, get any metal debris out of your pool as soon as possible to avoid rust stains.
Tropical Breeze will help by doing the following:
- As soon as safely possible, all pools will experience the following:
- A safety assessment will be performed and documented. This may include turning off power to your equipment.
- If equipment is not operable, your pool will be manually shocked to minimize algae and bacteria growth.
- Our normal schedule will resume. During your normally scheduled visit, our technicians will work toward getting your pool in swimming condition. Depending upon the condition of your pool, scenarios may be:
- We are able to get your pool back to swimming condition on our first visit.
- It takes several normally scheduled visits to return your pool to swimming condition.
- You may choose to clean up storm debris in your pool yourself, or hire someone for the job. This will help to get your pool back to swimming condition sooner.
- If you would like us to clean up your pool outside of your normally scheduled visit, please contact us to make arrangements. This may result in a surcharge to cover our labor costs.
I hope you find this document helpful. While it is impossible to anticipate all scenarios, this plan of action will help set expectations in the event we experience a severe storm.
Thank you for your understanding.
